Inktober 2019

Somehow I survived Inktober,  though a couple of pens and kneaded erasers didn’t make it.  Finished all 31 days, only had to go about a week into November. A concept and drawing a day is hard to keep  up. Well now that its done, which drawing was your absolute favorite and why? Please comment  with your favorite. Remember all drawings and prints of drawings are for sale,  just contact me for more information. #Inktober #Inktober2018 #wrap #ink #drawings #art

Fairy Ring

Ring beware… fairy rings are notorious for being dangerous possibly even deadly in folklore. Although this pretty maiden may be enticing, her dark side is poisonous. #InktoberDay1 #Inktober2019

Liking the Rain

“When are you going to come in out of the rain?”

“I like the rain.”

I will never forget that conversation with my dad. What one person finds tranquil might make another shudder. I did add a dash of magic. I used to wear shirts like this hiding my hands too.

Color Play

Wanted to see what she would like in color. I may have to pick up some new Sakura Microns, my black 20s are running a bit dry. It’s making this such a slow process. Though I’m liking the idea, but the paper is not cooperating with my markers. Hmmm… should I keep going?

And today’s drawing… Inktober Day 11 Fairy. I really liked how this one turned out. She reminds me of my daughter. I’m kind of curious about how it would look in color. #Inktober2017 #drawlloween2017

Revisiting Inktober one last time

I really surprised myself by making it through Inktober and completing all 31 days. It was quite the endeavor. Now that it is finished, I am curious as to which drawing was your absolute favorite? Please comment  with your vote.

Inktober Day 13 Ogre

Inktober Day 13 Ogre. I really like this character. He’slooks friendly and a bit menacing at the same time. I am thinking his left eye is a bit off… its not easy keeping up with one drawing per day though. I really need to draw faster and smaller. I was a little intimidated by drawing a Gryphon… but loving where he’s going though. It’s a work in progress for now. Media: ZIG Millennium 05 #Inktober2016 #drawlloween2016

Houdini explained, Hello 2014

Hello everyone its been a while I know. This last year, 2013, was an emotional roller coaster ride of really good and really bad.

We welcomed our new baby girl, Imogen. It has been quite the ride with a newborn. Trying to learn her schedule, she is so different from our first.

Sadly though we had to say good bye to a very dear friend, of whom I went to college with, Jaime Peterman. My heart has been thoroughly shattered. My friend taught me how to sew. We took on making our own fairy coats, one of my first projects. Being inspired by Katwise and Enlightened Platypus, very beautiful coats from recycled sweaters. Ours were done with Goodwill sweaters/coats and fleece. I should clarify that we did not follow any pattern and came up with our coats on our own. Jaime was an amazing color wizard. She had the most colorful sparkling spirit and I miss her so much.

Being in an emotional funk I took a break from creating and focused on being healthy, taking care of myself and my family. It was hard to want to create when I was just sad or overwhelmed with emotion. Luckily this pregnancy went so much better than the first. No high blood pressure and no pre-eclampsia, and she wasn’t full breech either. My swelling was normal not to the extreme either.

I hope that 2014 holds many wonderful surprises for me and my family.

Chimpanzee #2, the cute face

The Genus for a Chimpanzee is Pan. Which is also the name for the mythic faerie figure who protects nature most often pictured playing a flute.

I am making some progress. His personality is really starting to come through.
