Inktober 2019

Somehow I survived Inktober,  though a couple of pens and kneaded erasers didn’t make it.  Finished all 31 days, only had to go about a week into November. A concept and drawing a day is hard to keep  up. Well now that its done, which drawing was your absolute favorite and why? Please comment  with your favorite. Remember all drawings and prints of drawings are for sale,  just contact me for more information. #Inktober #Inktober2018 #wrap #ink #drawings #art

Catching A Dream

Ink drawing of woman catching a light by Alecia Goodman

Inktober Day 30 Catch, almost done. I just have one more to go. Ridiculous that this year has been so hard to keep up with it. This one may be a bit simpler, but I really like the pose and line work. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #catch #woman #ink #drawing #art #beauty #star

Not A Punching Bag

Ink drawing of a beaten woman's face by Alecia Goodman

Inktober Day 29 Injured, yes this one is hard to look at. It’s not pretty, in fact I would say its ugly and painful … not the woman, but what was done to her. No she didn’t walk into  a door. Domestic Violence is ugly and should never be ignored. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #injured #domesticviolence #woman #beaten #abuse

I’ve included a link below that is a beautifully choreographed dance that visually represents the relationship of a man and a woman in a domestic violence situation. Video against domestic violence.

Missing Fall

This how I wish I could wear a coat right now. Somehow it seems we have skipped Fall and dove right smack into winter. I have broken out my wool socks as it’s just too cold for me. How do you stay warm? #Inktober #Inktober2019 #coat #winter #warm #woman #ink #drawing

Light At The End

High Contrast shadows portrait of a woman by Alecia Goodman

Almost there…still behind, but still getting it done. I wanted to work something more about contrast and practice my cross hatching. I really like how it turned out. Still I need to work faster, always seem to get caught in the subtleties and details.  What do you think of the contrast and shading? I plan to revisit this one and add in some birds or maybe dark butterflies. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #dark #woman #ink #drawing #art #shadow #contrast

Rainy Day Blues

Ink drawing of woman cozy in a blanket drinking tea looking away with messy bun by Alecia Goodman

Inktober Day 25 Tasty” ©2019 alecia goodman to present

On a cold and rainy day I love snuggling up in a big cozy sweater with a cup of tea. Of course a thick soft blanket makes it even better.  You will normally find a sketchbook, book, or maybe some yarn tucked in there with me. It’s one of the ways I try to relax. What is your favorite ways to escape the rainy day blues? #Inktober #Inktober2019 #tasty #ink #drawing  #rainy #tea #woman #messybun

Embraced by a Ghost

Ink drawing of woman crying and hair embracing her face by Alecia Goodman

“Inktober Day 22 Ghost” ©2019 alecia goodman to present

I thought about this prompt “Ghost” a bit differently.  There are many instances in a day where something small reminds me of my friend Jaime or even my dad. I lost both of them to cancer. Sometimes it’s a pattern or a color or even at times just the rain. These thoughts though made me both happy and sad. Instead though I thought about something else completely, how easy it is to lose yourself whether it’s from being in so called love or in the midst of pursuing a goal. It can be so very hard to embrace your ghost and even more difficult to find yourself again. I’ve been  there and I hope to never travel that path again. Be true to yourself and love yourself it’s more important than you will ever know. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #ghost #memories #love #ink #drawing  #woman

Ocean Booty

She guards what’s rightfully hers with an unwavering eye. Never get between a woman and what she holds dear whether it be love, family, or a pirate’s booty. No matter the odds she will spite the odds. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #treasure #pirate #woman #ink #drawing #feather #buccaneer #shadow

Warrior Woman

Her expression says it all. It’s my favorite part of this ink sketch. I may revisit it later to add more detail especially on the hands. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #sling #Ink #InktoberDay19 #warriorwoman #focus

Cascading Locks

Ink drawing of woman wearing hair ornament by Alecia Goodman

“Inktober Day 17 Ornament” ©2019 alecia goodman to present

Ornament, a special and meaningful accent used to enhance. I immediately thought of a hair ornament. I wanted to simplify the figure and place more emphasis on the ornament. I think that this particular ornament is something that is passed down through family; a strong bond to heritage and love. Do you have any family heirlooms that hold meaning to you? #Inktober #Inktober2019 #InktoberDay17 #ornament #woman #yukata #hair
