Finished Puppy

Today is National Dog Day. I love sharing one of my portraits. This beautiful dog is Livvy and i had the privilege to draw her. I was able to finish and deliver it over the summer. Excited to see how her portrait gets framed and hear about her family’s reaction. #dog, #portrait, #pastel painting, #drawing, #aleciagoodman

Pulling The Details

“Livy”, portrait update #2 ©2022 alecia goodman to present

As I’m working on this one starting to get excited as some of the details lost in shadow are found. Livy is looking good. #aleciagoodman, #art, #portrait, #dog

Sizing and Tech Issues

“Livy,” portrait update #1 ©2022 alecia goodman to present

This beautiful and sometimes shy girl is starting to take shape. Nothing like figuring out past notes and numbers to get her matching to her previous sisters’ portraits. I’m working hard to figure out some of the details hiding in the shadows (aka nose and eye area). But the magic is working thanks to some amazing movie soundtracks, 300 and Titanic, I’m rocking out to. #aleciagoodman #portrait #pastels #painting #drawing

Light At The End

High Contrast shadows portrait of a woman by Alecia Goodman

Inktober Day 26 Dark” ©2019 alecia goodman to present

Almost there…still behind, but still getting it done. I wanted to work something more about contrast and practice my cross hatching. I really like how it turned out. Still I need to work faster, always seem to get caught in the subtleties and details.  What do you think of the contrast and shading? I plan to revisit this one and add in some birds or maybe dark butterflies. #Inktober #Inktober2019 #dark #woman #ink #drawing #art #shadow #contrast

Cascading Locks

Ink drawing of woman wearing hair ornament by Alecia Goodman

“Inktober Day 17 Ornament” ©2019 alecia goodman to present

Ornament, a special and meaningful accent used to enhance. I immediately thought of a hair ornament. I wanted to simplify the figure and place more emphasis on the ornament. I think that this particular ornament is something that is passed down through family; a strong bond to heritage and love. Do you have any family heirlooms that hold meaning to you? #Inktober #Inktober2019 #InktoberDay17 #ornament #woman #yukata #hair

Starting on this windblown beauty today. It’s challenging, but I really like where it’s headed already. What do you think so far?

Boom, I think this puppy’s done. Hopefully my customer thinks so and I can move on to the next adventure.
