Finished Puppy

Today is National Dog Day. I love sharing one of my portraits. This beautiful dog is Livvy and i had the privilege to draw her. I was able to finish and deliver it over the summer. Excited to see how her portrait gets framed and hear about her family’s reaction. #dog, #portrait, #pastel painting, #drawing, #aleciagoodman

Embrace Your Awesomeness!

“Sun Panda” final update ©2022 alecia goodman to present

It’s done. This went much faster than I imagined. It looks so good and my daughter is thrilled. Can’t wait to get it back to frame and hang in her room. #panda, #sunflower, #art, #painting, #watercolor, #tombow, #aleciagoodman

Pandemonium

My daughter gets to participate in state assessment testing this year. I’m currently working on a poster to encourage her to do her best. Not too long ago I did a special dragon for my son. Thinking this will be a fun one to paint. What do you think and how would you approach a poster? #panda, #sunflower, #sketch, #watercolor, #aleciagoodman, #pencil

Lightning Roost

Inktober Day 12 Roof ink drawing of weather vane rooster by alecia goodman copyright 2021 to present

Inktober Day 12 Roof, I struggled with this one a bit. Mainly because I love drawing architecture. I wanted to focus more on a piece rather than the whole. With a little research I found just about anything can be used on a weather vane including flying pigs, mermaids, dragons, horses, and dogs. What would you have for a weather vane? #Inktober, #roof, #rooster, #directions, #wind, #metal, ink, #art, #farm, #fantasy, #aleciagoodman

Catch of the Day

“Inktober Day 1 Fish” ©2020 alecia goodman to present

Inktober so it begins. First prompt this year is fish. I’m a bit rusty as I’ve been so busy dealing with 2020 just like most everyone else. Hopefully the ideas and ink will start flowing. This girl was caught over the summer near my house. Always interesting to see how kids handle their very first fishing excursion. My daughter was definitely adamant that she wouldn’t kiss a fish, even if it was her first catch. #Inktober2020 #Inktober #fish #InktoberDay1 #fishing #Girl #water

It’s Coming, Inktober 2020

It’s almost here. The time of year where it gets cooler and many artists are gearing up. All of us hoping our ink lasts and our ideas continue flowing. Every year I use this event to improve my drawing skills and get more comfortable with ink. Wish me luck as I try to tackle this year … working at the same time makes it more challenging just like always. #INKTOBER2020 #INKTOBER

Inktober 2018

Seriously happy dance over here. I survived Inktober,  though some of my pens didn’t.  I completed all 31 days, though not all were on time that’s for sure. A drawing a day is a lot of work. I’m curious now that its done, which drawing was your absolute favorite and why? Please comment  with your favorite. Remember all drawings and prints of drawings are for sale,  just contact me for more information. #Inktober #Inktober2018 #wrap

So It Begins

Inktober Day 1 Poison ink drawing by alecia goodman

I had so many ideas for “Poison, Inktober Day 1″… old glass bottles and their shapes have always fascinated me. The liquid in the bottle has a life of it’s own. I couldn’t help, but play with Typography too… another one of my loves. What do you think of my combination of all of the elements for poison?

Continuing to work on my current project. A little slow though making some progress, a lot of detail on this one. Do you have any special mementos from a loved one?

Windblown Beauty

Pencil and white charcoal drawing girl

“Becca”, portrait update 2 ©2016 alecia goodman to present

This drawing is so beautiful. I love the movement in her shirt and the wind blowing her hair around. Look at her hair, just gorgeous. I think she might just be done, hopefully I have been able to really capture her . Media pencil/lead with white charcoal
