Sizing and Tech Issues

“Livy,” portrait update #1 ©2022 alecia goodman to present

This beautiful and sometimes shy girl is starting to take shape. Nothing like figuring out past notes and numbers to get her matching to her previous sisters’ portraits. I’m working hard to figure out some of the details hiding in the shadows (aka nose and eye area). But the magic is working thanks to some amazing movie soundtracks, 300 and Titanic, I’m rocking out to. #aleciagoodman #portrait #pastels #painting #drawing

Embrace Your Awesomeness!

It’s done. This went much faster than I imagined. It looks so good and my daughter is thrilled. Can’t wait to get it back to frame and hang in her room. #panda, #sunflower, #art, #painting, #watercolor, #tombow, #aleciagoodman

Speed Painting

It’s almost there. I was really excited about the speed of this one. The whole thing came together so fast. Now to figure out the words of encouragement. My son suggested Kung Fu Panda, “Embrace Your Awesomeness!” I think thats perfect. How to get it to work… #panda, #art, #painting, #watercolor, #aleciagoodman

Bursting With Color

It’s moving along. I’m excited to see where this goes from here. The piece is going to be bright and full of color, although not very realistic. Would you be more free with color or stick more to nature? #Panda, #art, #sketch, #color, #watercolor, #brush, #sunflower, #aleciagoodman

Pandemonium

My daughter gets to participate in state assessment testing this year. I’m currently working on a poster to encourage her to do her best. Not too long ago I did a special dragon for my son. Thinking this will be a fun one to paint. What do you think and how would you approach a poster? #panda, #sunflower, #sketch, #watercolor, #aleciagoodman, #pencil

Lightning Roost

Inktober Day 12 Roof, I struggled with this one a bit. Mainly because I love drawing architecture. I wanted to focus more on a piece rather than the whole. With a little research I found just about anything can be used on a weather vane including flying pigs, mermaids, dragons, horses, and dogs. What would you have for a weather vane? #Inktober, #roof, #rooster, #directions, #wind, #metal, ink, #art, #farm, #fantasy, #aleciagoodman

Inktober Day 12 Stuck, my son suggested this idea. We enjoyed watching the wild hamster video through BBC. https://youtu.be/rkZ6gzyg7yY

Yes, I’m way behind…but plan on getting it done. This past month has been hard emotionally and super busy. I’m hoping things slow down and my heart can rest and recover from losing a friend. It hit me hard and dealing with other pressures it hit close to home. A lot of people are dealing with mental issues right now. Before anything else remember to be kind. You don’t want to hold on to the pressure of what ifs.

Sometimes I draw friends with their permission of course. I wish it looked a little closer to my friend. I didn’t want to do too much though and mess it up. Thankfully my kids recognized him. He might look a little scary, but he’s really just a teddy bear at heart. Still probably a good idea to stay on his good side. I hope my friend thinks its close enough. #Inktober, #art, #pressure, #American, #Indian, #glare, #man, #glasses, #bandana, #aleciagoodman, #drawing, #ink
