I am really excited that I have this portrait almost done. I know I have some more tweaking to do here and there, but it is getting really close. One of my biggest challenges is to make sure I don’t get too much detail going on in her shirt, but enough to show its there and allow the baby to pop.
I am a little sad to be getting ready to saying good bye to this sweet little face and not seeing her beautiful smile as I work daily; so precious. What do you think?
So amazing! Awesome job!!! What a great job of capturing the baby’s personality and form.
Thank you BoJo. I was worried I was a little rusty since I have been doing more animal portraits lately. I think it turned out just beautifully though. I was looking at your blog, the High School Senior Portrait shoot, so striking… you did an wonderful job!
This is amazing!!! I’ve been forcing myself to sketch more in hopes of improving my feeble skills. Do you ever share any tips or have any suggestions on how to improve?
P.S. Thanks for the like on my blog!
Thank you Dani! I really enjoyed looking around your two chicks blog. You have some really wonderful ideas. I will try to put more tips in my posts. A couple of suggestions, work on shading on simple shapes without smudging/smearing. I think drawings tend to be stronger without it. Another one would be always keep your pencil sharp, the sharper the better. I hope to post an update soon on pencil sharpener quest. Sketch-wise, draw daily you would be amazed if you kept track from day 1 to 3 months down the road.
