Its time to wrap up this Inktober. I know this year took me a while to finish and even this last one was horribly late too. I really like this one though, it makes me reminisce. Reminds me of an NBAA invitation I designed years ago playing off of planes, trains, and automobiles. Or maybe even from high school waiting for the train to crawl by while I sat in my truck after swim practice.
This past month has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I have been struggling with juggling work and being a teacher for my kids’ remote schooling. I’m not a teacher or a counselor or a computer tech person … but I’ve been wearing all of those hats. I feel like we are all just going day by day, some days very much like today only managing with tears, training wheels, and kid gloves. Its been hard, but I know it could be so much worse. Remember crawling might be slow moving, but in the end somehow we’ll get there. I keep reminding myself tomorrow will be better and we’ll get back to our normal, hoping for sooner than later. Stay safe everyone. #Inktober2020, #crawl, #aleciagoodman, #train, #engines, #railroad, #trainingwheels, #pandemic, #school

Almost there, just one more to finish. Inktober Day 30, Ominous … What if you’re only weapon was a wand and your intellect. Would you still blunder aroind in the dark with only a lantern to make your way by? One of my favorite fictional characters is a witch and her greatest weapon was her mind. I would only hope in that situation I’d find the courage to keep going. #Inktober2020, #ominous, #witch, #girl, #wand, #lantern, #dark, #stonewall, #wall, #bun, #messybun

Inktober Day 28 Float … due to the virus this past summer we spent a lot of time at our neighborhood pool. Normally in the mornings or early afternoons to avoid people. We took donuts off and on depending on the wind. On a particular windy day my youngest dropped one of the donuts and was asked to hold another so we could grab the first one. The second was dropped right after that. All of our neighbors heard the screams and watched as we chased them around the pond. Somehow we captured them, though I had my doubts. Hence the rule if its too windy, “No Donuts!” #inktober2020, #float, #girl, #swim, #pfd, #donut, #water, #pool, #vertical, #swimsuit, #splash, #aleciagoodman,

Inktober Day 24 Dig, since my son was little he’s wanted to prove that dragons existed. I love this drawing so much. Somehow after midnight last night I found just the right amount of magic to create this drawing. By the time I finished even my husband had a cheesy grin. #Inktober2020 #Inktober #dig #drawing #ink #dragon #explorer #boy #shovel #skull #fossil #dirt #aleciagoodman

Inktober Day 23 Rip, too many ideas for this one. Humans in general are creatures of habit and tend to crave or seek what feels good. Personally I love comfortable clothes and a hot cup of tea (not everyone’s bag I know). The only things missing are a good book and bare feet next to a fire. Still going…I will finish, just been a rough month. #Inktober2020 #Inktober #rip #cup #mug #coffee #rippedjeans #art #drawing #ink #aleciagoodman #migraines

Why is it that I get sucked into all the details? This was meant to be small and quick, but didn’t work out that way. My son says I should have included fish. My answer, maybe later…have to draw the line somewhere. #Inktober2020 #Inktober #coral #shell #bubbles #ocean

Outpost is Inktober’s day 15 prompt. Throwing a bit of whimsy and magic together with architecture and a impossible location. I’d be interested in meeting who lives here and hopefully they’re the one who came up with the design too. Is there a special place you’d want to build your house? #inktober2020 #Inktober #outpost #whimsical #cliff #ink #drawing #art #home #house
