Long ago the giant’s blade fell from the sky. The sharp glinting metal carving paths all leading back to its gleaming edge. Most would avoid it if they realized what hand could wield the massive weapon.
These two look so dashing in their costumes. These portraits were a challenge to keep them tied as a pair and in determining some of those hidden details. Also as I continue yo learn drawing small isn’t as easy as drawing a larger format. Somehow, these two turned out beautifully. Do your pets wear costumes or accessories? Personally, when we had cats before finding out my husband’s allergies…ours hated any type of costume.
It’s the first day and I already started overdoing it. I do like the hard and soft contrasts…especially the human softness and the hard crystalline forms. Her profile is amazing, makes me think of characters from the show “Face-off” or even “Doctor Who.” What would you like to see this time around? #Inktober2021, #art, #crystal, #humanoid, #fantasy, #ink, #sci-fi, #drawing
I participate in themed exchanges with a small group of friends. I drew a friend and client this last time. She loves plants and I realized that the sunflower sketch I had done for a possible drawing for my daughter was perfect for her. What is your favorite flower?
It’s hard saying goodbye to these adorable chubby cheeks and fur baby. I loved getting to work on these two and seeing them emerge from the blank canvas. I enjoyed talking with the client and sending them updates too. Now I can’t wait to hear the reaction when this drawing is gifted. Maybe I should do a couple of portraits of my own two as toddlers … back to editing for a bit. #portrait, #art, #drawing, #pencil, #girl, #cat, #kiss, #pet, #aleciagoodman
Tackling fur in shading can be tricky business, mainly when trying to make it as realistic as possible. I’m excited as it’s getting so close to being done. As I’m in the finishing stretch, her chubby cheeks which are so cute remind me that my own kids are growing too fast. Hard to believe my nephew is graduating, and my son is a year and a half away to being a teenager, and my daughter is hitting a growth spurt. It goes so fast. #portrait, #art, #drawing, #pencil, #girl, #cat, #kiss, #pet, #aleciagoodman
I love how this is shaping up once I dressed this cute toddler. Stripes can be tricky, but the folds in the fabric really push the image’s depth. Up next is the kitty…do you have a special first pet? I will always remember our Doberman named Bo Jangles, Bo for short. #portrait, #art, #drawing, #pencil, #girl, #cat, #kiss, #pet, #aleciagoodman
Just working away … The stripes and folds in the fabric are really taking shape. The highlights and shadows are starting to make more sense and pop. Being a toddler with her round face makes me realize how much my own babies have changed too. #portrait, #art, #drawing, #pencil, #girl, #cat, #kiss, #aleciagoodman
Earning my stripes this time around. At times it goes really and others it’s painstaking slow. Still I’m loving it and think she’s so darned cute. Did you know artists are sometimes scared of drawing certain things like hands, faces, fur, and even stripes? Personally I love doing these. #portrait, #art, #drawing, #pencil, #girl, #cat, #kiss, #aleciagoodman
It’s starting to take on personality. A lot of blocking in coming up next. Is she looking cute or ornery? #portrait, #art, #drawing, #pencil, #girl, #cat, #kiss, #aleciagoodman
