I truly believe Mother Earth is weeping and the oil is still seeping… the oil is still coming with no end in sight. As an artist I hope that the ripple I make by contributing to help the animals in the gulf grows to become a tidal wave. My Illustration Friday piece this week shows the beauty that is now suffering and the stark reality of the oil spill’s effect on the wildlife. So I have thrown my stone and made a splash… Mother Earth we hear your cries and hope our ripples help to answer your call.
Illustration Friday did a special topic “ripple” this week to help the wildlife affected by the oil spill in the Gulf. Artists were asked to illustrate a sketchcard (2.5 x 3.5″) which can then be received through a donation of $10. All the money goes directly to organizations that benefit Gulf wildlife. Here is the link if you’re interested in donating or viewing any of the art cards (as well as my three), you can view the selection and find out more here: http://ripplesketches.blogspot.com/ . Since I don’t know when mine will appear on the blog, I am posting this as I submitted my designs.
I think that they are really good. but not surprising. I knew you would do them justice. I love the detail.
I particularly like the bold graphics of the first image. Striking. Well done!
